Drawing on generations worth of experience, we’ve developed a unique process which involves a series of meticulously-planned steps when it comes to building custom homes. Each step is a milestone we explore together with our clients. From project conception through completion, we journey through together – helping you navigate the complex but exhilarating building process.
The Highglen Custom Home Building Process
PHASE ONE
Introductory Meeting and Consultation
The introductory meeting is a fundamental step in our construction process. Our first priority is to understand our clients as homeowners. Getting to know you, your wants, must-haves, wishes, and desires, enables us to gain perspective on your vision and goals. Reviewing budgets, timelines, and expectations from the get-go provides clarity and focus and eliminates costly mistakes. As we get to know you, you get to know us.
PHASE TWO
Planning and Design
This is our information-gathering phase of the build. During this stage, we review the architectural design and prepare the site plan considering local regulations and zoning requirements. We’ll also develop a Schedule ‘A’ that clearly outlines everything from labour and materials to equipment and services used in the construction of the project. Lastly, a Contract to Build Agreement is prepared, where we clearly define all aspects of our partnership.
PHASE THREE
Development and Construction
This is our ground-breaking stage. We’ll coordinate and liaise with all stakeholders, engineers, architects, trades.
PHASE FOUR
Final Inspection
Our comprehensive project close-out includes a full inspection and a final walk-through prior to closing. Together with Frank and John, you will compile a list of items that may need extra attention in preparation for your move-in day. We believe in the highest quality, which is why your relationship with Highglen Homes doesn’t end here but continues well beyond the move-in day.

Highglen Homes is a registered Builder in Excellent Standing with Tarion and is licensed under the Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA). As a second and upcoming third generation of Custom Home Builders, we truly understand the significance of construction costs, project deadlines, quality craftsmanship and market value. We appreciate our Clients expectations, trust, and confidence in knowing their home is in good hands.
Our warranty coverages follow the Tarion guidelines, and we support all our clients in accordance with them. Homebuyers have three (3) formal opportunities to request warranty services:
- Within 30 Days of Occupancy
- Prior to One (1) Year of Occupancy
- Prior to Two (2) Years of Occupancy
